From drift to the Reforged Era
The story of how this server found its way back to what it was meant to be.
A Mandiyal founder builds a home for Himachalis
The server was created by a Mandiyal founder who wanted an online space for Himachali people to connect. Without strong leadership or active moderation, the community slowly drifted from that original vision — district rivalries, extremism, and unnecessary conflict began to dominate discussions, and moderation turned biased.
Moyo joins, and the old culture takes root
Originally from Hamirpur and raised in Delhi, Moyo was known for his mature outlook, humour, and community experience — and was soon promoted to moderator. But the toxicity and rivalry already baked into the server shaped the new moderation team too, Moyo included, at first.
A Mandi local rises through the ranks
Cheerful, social, and quick to connect with people, Ryan was promoted to moderator within two months of joining. Like those before him, he initially absorbed the existing culture — until something about the server's direction began to feel wrong.
A new member is unfairly targeted
When a new female member was judged and targeted instead of welcomed, Ryan witnessed it firsthand — without yet having the authority to challenge the system. The moment left a lasting impression, and made clear how far the server had drifted from its intended spirit.
Tensions reach their peak
A moderator openly disrespected Hindu traditions and used insulting language toward Indians in the server. When a member objected, they were insulted and pushed out instead. For many, this was the point of no return.
The owner steps in
Ryan, Moyo, and a group of trusted members brought their concerns directly to the server owner. After review, problematic moderators were removed and leadership was reorganised — with one goal: rebuild a respectful, united Himachali community.
Fairness, participation, and respect
The server now runs under neutral ownership, with Ryan and Moyo as admins, Tempest as moderator, Jasper and Rhombus as the Pradhan technical backbone, and district representatives giving every community a voice.

Preserving Himachal's dialects, before they're gone
An open-source project born from this community, documenting the languages and cultural knowledge of Himachal Pradesh.
What is HimVirasat?
Many Himachali dialects exist only in spoken form and are slowly disappearing as younger generations shift toward Hindi and English. HimVirasat exists to document and preserve those dialects before they're lost — a community effort, not a commercial project, powered by people who care about their roots.
The Problem
- Many Himachali dialects have no digital presence
- No central platform documents them
- Most dialects aren't formally taught
- Young people avoid using them due to social stigma
- Traditional knowledge is passed only orally
Our Vision
- Document dialects from across Himachal
- Create simple vocabulary databases
- Provide beginner learning resources
- Preserve pronunciation, scripts and oral traditions
- Expand into culture, rituals, festivals and history
